I spent years working as a solo virtual assistant, dedicating my days to perfecting the art of supporting those who dedicate themselves to helping others. Over time, I became an expert in assisting private practice owners, refining my skills with each passing day.
But truthfully, the foundation for what I do now began long before that — with a deep passion for making people feel special, lending a helping hand, and creating systems that make life a little easier for those doing meaningful work.
Before working as a virtual assistant and founding Michelle Polk Collective, I spent years as a general manager learning how to run every messy, moving part of a restaurant business. A restaurant demands everything from you — the pace is relentless, the details are endless, and the stakes feel high all the time. That intensity taught me resilience and grit, and gave me a deep respect for the intricate puzzle pieces that must fit together to make something run smoothly. Those lessons are woven into everything I do now when I support a private practice like yours.
I've also got a background in the healthcare world, working in doctors' offices and labs, so I understand what it means to handle sensitive information with care and to treat people warmly when they're having their hardest days.
Along the way, I discovered something: I have a genuine passion for helping the helpers, and I don't just want to check tasks off a list.
I want to genuinely understand your practice, spot the things slowing you down, and help you build something that works for you. My clients often tell me I've become their thought partner — the person they call to bounce around a new idea or talk through a tricky decision. Honestly, that's my favorite part of the job.
(And yes, I'm a mom to three boys, a wife, and the proud owner of the cutest boxer dog you've ever seen. Fun fact — I have an identical twin sister, so if you ever think you spot me in two places at once, you might be right.)
